“I’m not bad I’m just drawn that way...”
Ain’t nothin scarier than a woman standing in her power, embracing her sexuality.
The femme fatale archetype was created to combat the oppression of women and standards placed upon us - of being passive, subservient, and dependent on a man. This character broke the mold and portrayed women as intelligent, seductive, and taking control of their own destiny.
This world needs everyone practicing intersectional feminism, putting women in positions of power, and doing more to protect women. I’m here to remind you to do your part. Jessica Rabbit and other femme fatales remind me to do mine.
Tonight we’re celebrating the strength, resistance, and resilience of women with a Halloween Soirée
Come on out and support @nashvillewomeninjazz as we set the scene for you to embrace and unleash your inner femme fatale

Shout out to my girl @mayaoliviamusic._ for the clip
@larysajaye left this earth much too soon, but she left an incredible legacy that I’m so grateful to have been able to witness.
Larysa shared loved and light with the world - no matter what darkness she was going thru. She put her lipstick on and did the damn thing. Always inspiring. Always encouraging. Always unapologetic. Always in her power.
We lost a real one and it’s been hard to accept.
Tonight @miss.nikki.morgan said that Larysa’s music lives on to keep sending us messages from beyond and I fully believe that.
Thank you to everyone who made tonight’s tribute to her possible. I send endless love to each of you and her family.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Larysa 🌻🥃
CD7 voters - get to the polls!
Drive your neighbors, your friends, anyone who needs a ride!
We need to get @aftynbehn4tn in this seat because she has proven to be a leader putting people first.
Throughout her career as a social worker, community organizer and House Representative, she’s fought to shift power away from corporate special interests and corrupt politicians — and put it back where it belongs: in the hands of the communities that make Tennessee and this country strong.
There is one more day of early voting and it’s vital you vote NOW!
September 18 is my mother’s birthday and so I’ve been going through pictures of her on my phone.
After my father passed away, we took a trip to California to grieve, heal and reconnect. This was a journey we had planned almost 14 years before but didn’t make until the timing was just right.
We went to San Francisco and very randomly met some of the first women to do burlesque in Chinatown at the Forbidden City in the 30s. As you can imagine, she clicked with them instantly.
I was lucky enough to bring her as my plus one to my best friends’ wedding. Then we linked up with another friend who had also just lost her father and we all drove together to have some fun in Santa Cruz.
My mom shared stories with me I never knew and I felt that I got to know my parents in a new way. We visited places she and my father made memories together and places they longed to go to but never made it.
We flew down to LA, took a boat to San Diego, and visited the friends they made when they lived there together almost 40 years ago. Then I got to play music with one of my Dad’s best friends.
She took me to where they used to live and where they used to work.
We went to the Japanese Tea Garden, got on a ferris wheel and ate damn good seafood.
We witnessed the most beautiful sunsets. My Dad loved watching the sunset. We could feel him there with us, reminding us to release the pain and hold onto love.
What a voyage to remember. All the while holding space for grief and joy.
My mother inspires me every day through her resilience… I’m deeply grateful for these memories and to remember to find joy through grief.
I’m also really glad to be the daughter of Luralee and Mark. Happy Birthday, Mom
