My version of “just a little lovin’” is now released. 💛
I hope it offers some catharsis to anyone feeling overwhelmed by the constant weight of what’s happening in the world.
I first heard Dusty Springfield sing this song on a restless night in 2020, cleaning my room around 3am. My playlist had ended and the algorithm took over. Dusty’s voice and message sat me down and held me. I replayed the song over and over and over again, releasing tears, anger, frustration, and loneliness. I listened to other covers by Carmen McRae and Sarah Vaughan until I watched the sun come up on my front porch. They reminded me that grief is shared and so is the work of loving through it.
Matt Endahl and I started playing this on our livestreams from his piano, and as the world opened back up, we were able to build it more with our friends. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who helped bring this version to life and carry a little more love into the world with it.

All of the music that came out of the civil rights movement is still painfully relevant. My heart breaks witnessing ICE invasions, genocide, fascism, and the ongoing violence we’re all trying to survive.
Love is a practice, both as a guide and a response. 💛
…this old world
wouldn’t be half as sad
wouldn’t be half as mad
if each and everybody in it had
just a little lovin’

After moving 8 times in 5 years, I’m finding relief and joy in coming back to myself and my artistry at my newest spot. I trust that this is the time to share and have sincere gratitude to everyone who has been patient with me and encouraged me to share my music with the world over the years.
Pre-save link is live in my bio 🌞
I finally have a release date set for my upcoming single!
This ain’t no April fools joke, cuz it’s literally a joke to be surviving through the capitalistic hellscape we are all moving through 😅
I haven’t released music in about 10 years AND I’ve been talking about releasing this single for about 4 of those, but life be lifin’. YA KNOW?! Thank you to @haleyschatt for giving me the support needed to cross the finish line 🫂
….So cue the algorithm promo that will showcase a bunch of beautiful photos that @sheldonhawthorrne took of me last year as I started rebuilding my life for the 34th time.
I’ll be singing and celebrating at @urbancowboy_nashville on April 2 from 7 - 10pm with my day 1s @jonrog & @dsaulsmusic
Come celebrate something of your own with us!
We all made it through the first quarter of the year!

WE ARE SO BACK
Good goddess… turns out leaving the house and dancing with hot, talented people is exactly what we needed 💃
@drgiovanni25 thank you for building a stage and soul-charged band where women musicians can just hop on stage, let loose, and trust that we’re supported every Monday night at @rudysjazzroom
Moments like this make me miss playing with my sis @katericanary on the regular, but she’s off being iconic - playing with Stephen Marley, as she should. I’m so glad we got a moment last night.
Such a high vibe night only happens because of every single dancer in the room bringing their magnetic energy to the dance floor. Ya’ll bring me back to life time and time again.
If you’re late tapping into the Salsa community in Nashville, just start now. Your first step is to sign up for Foundations 1 with Nicole at @nashvillesalsadancing
10/10 would recommend for existential dread.
And if you want to plug in outside the classroom -
Gio is at @acmenashville this Sunday from 7 - 10pm…. come dance with me?
I don’t often take time to reflect on the work I’ve done since I’m usually onto the next project. But as I’ve been revamping the website for Nashville Women in Jazz, I’ve been thinking about how far this grassroots initiative has come.
NWIJ was born from a simple idea: what if we actually uplifted the underrepresented jazz talent that exists in this city? Over the years, that idea has grown into a booking agency, a performance collective, and a real community. It’s been built by creating opportunities where there weren’t any and reimagining what a supportive jazz scene here can look like.
When traditional spaces weren’t opening their doors, we built our own. Our residency at Urban Cowboy has become a place where musicians can gather, sit in, experiment, and feel supported enough to take risks. Watching that room fill up each week and seeing new connections form - that’s the impact we love to see.
One of the most meaningful milestones has been producing our first compilation album at RCA Studio B. It is the first-ever all-women album recorded there since the studio opened in 1957.
A big part of this work is making change practical. We built an online database so that hiring women isn’t a question of effort… It’s a given.
And we’re just getting started as we redefine the standards of who gets hired and remembered.
Shout out to @yelpnashville for hiring us to perform and giving us a platform to share our mission.
Nashville Women in Jazz exists to inspire a more equitable and accessible jazz scene.
It takes all of us!
Reach out if you’re interested in being part of this work and building with us

I’ve lost myself more times than I care to admit… But I always find my way back.
Being an empath and a woman in art means constantly negotiating the space between offering myself and safeguarding what’s sacred.
My strength isn’t in never wavering from who I am - it’s in rebuilding, renewing, and rising every time the world tries to make me small. To feel deeply and to funnel all of that into my artistry, is its own kind of grace.
Tonight, @the.space.is.blank is getting a healthy dose of unfiltered femininity and sensuality through a variety of mediums. I will sing alongside the visual works of my dear friend @meggojojo and between my sets, we’ll be guided by @_djamor on the 1s and 2s. Find the ticket link in my stories.
I’m grateful for the women who walk with me, and for the art we make simply by showing up as ourselves. And thank you @sheldonhawthornephotography for helping me reconnect to myself through this photoshoot 😘
